The WesAudio ngBusComp reimagines the classic stereo bus compressor — the "mix bus glue" engineers have relied on for decades — with a fully analog signal path built around four THAT 2181 VCAs (plus an additional VCA per channel for the sidechain detector), delivering +24dBu of headroom and the punchy, musical character that made quad-VCA bus compression famous. It runs in dual mono, stereo, or mid-side modes, with detectors and channels that can be linked or unlinked on the fly, giving you true stereo bus compression or independent dual-mono control as the mix demands.

Five selectable ratios (1.5:1, 2:1, 4:1, 10:1, and INF) cover everything from gentle glue to aggressive limiting, with multiple attack and release settings and a choice of three high-pass sidechain filters plus two tilt filters for shaping the detector signal. A dedicated MIX knob makes parallel compression effortless and fully automatable from your DAW, while adjustable THD (0–8%) and selectable electronically balanced or transformer-balanced (IRON PAD) output stages let you push the sound from clean and precise to warm and saturated. External sidechain inputs and detailed per-channel metering for input, output, and gain reduction round out the analog feature set.
