Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering

Do I need an account to place an order?

No. You can check out as a guest — just your name, email, phone number and delivery address. There is one exception: discount codes are for account holders only, so if you want to use a code you will need to sign in or create an account first. Your basket stays exactly as it is while you do.

Where do I actually check out?

Everything happens on the basket page. Your contact details, delivery or collection choice, payment method and the Place order button are all on that one page — there is no separate multi-step checkout to work through.

What happens after I place an order?

Your order is received, and our team confirms stock, payment and delivery during store hours. You will see it immediately under Account → Orders, newest first. Orders move through these stages: Placed, Confirmed, Ready to collect, Collected, Completed — or Cancelled. Payment shows separately as Paid, Part paid, Payment pending or Unpaid.

Can I change or cancel an order myself?

No — orders cannot be edited or cancelled from your account. Call us on 012 991 6077 or email info@onestopmusic.co.za as soon as possible and we will help.

Can I get an invoice?

Yes. Every order in Account → Orders has a Download invoice button.

How do I track my order?

When a courier consignment is booked, a Tracking number appears on the order in your account. Use that number with the courier. If you would rather we chase it, phone the store.

Can I change my email address?

Not from your account — email us and we will do it. You can change your name, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, password and marketing preferences yourself.

Paying

What payment methods can I use?

Three:

  • Card / EFT (PayGate) — you are redirected to PayGate to pay securely by card or instant EFT. Your order is confirmed as soon as the payment succeeds.
  • Payflex — pay over time — four interest-free instalments. You pay the first today and the rest over six weeks.
  • EFT / Bank transfer — pay manually into our account using your order number as the reference, then email proof of payment to info@onestopmusic.co.za.

Why can't I see the EFT option?

Manual EFT is offered when you choose Collect in store. When you choose courier delivery, the card and Payflex options are shown instead. Instant EFT is still available for delivery orders — it sits inside the PayGate page.

Is it safe to pay by card?

Yes. Card and instant-EFT payments happen on PayGate's own secure page, and Payflex payments on Payflex's. We never see, receive or store your card number or your banking login.

Is there a minimum or maximum for Payflex?

We do not set one. Payflex applies its own limits and approval checks at their checkout.

My payment did not go through — what now?

Unpaid orders can be settled from a link in the email we send you, or from Account → Orders, where an unpaid order shows a Settle this order option. Payment links are personal to one order and expire once it is settled.

Delivery and collection

Where do you deliver?

Door-to-door courier anywhere in South Africa — all nine provinces. We do not deliver to PO Boxes.

What does delivery cost?

It depends on your province, and delivery is free on orders over R1,000 everywhere in South Africa:

  • Gauteng — R150
  • Free State, Limpopo, North West, Mpumalanga — R200
  • Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Northern Cape, Western Cape — R300

Collection from the store is always free.

How long does delivery take?

From the day your order is dispatched: about 2 to 4 business days to the main centres, and 4 to 7 business days to outlying and regional areas.

Can I collect from the store instead?

Yes, and it is free. Choose Collect in store at checkout. We are at Shop 15, Greenlyn Village Centre, cnr Thomas Edison Street & 13th Street, Menlo Park, Pretoria, 0084. Open Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00, Saturday 09:00-14:00, and public holidays 09:00-13:00. Please wait until we have told you your order is ready before coming to collect it.

Do you ship outside South Africa?

Not through the website — the checkout serves South Africa only. We can arrange delivery to selected neighbouring African countries, with freight quoted and agreed beforehand, and customs and import duties for your account. Contact us before ordering. Note that goods shipped outside South Africa cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged and this is proven within 24 hours of arrival.

Returns, exchanges and faults

How long do I have to return something?

30 days from delivery for a standard, unused item in its original packaging, for delivery addresses in South Africa. Return courier costs are for your account, and the item is subject to a quality check.

Separately, South African law gives you a 7-day cooling-off right under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act to cancel an online purchase without giving a reason. Our 30-day policy is the more generous of the two, and it is the one we apply.

What condition does a return have to be in?

For a refund or exchange: completely unused, in its original undamaged retail packaging, with all manufacturer seals, tags and protective plastics intact.

My order arrived damaged, or something is missing.

Tell us within 24 hours of delivery. For damage, keep the item unused and in exactly the packaging it arrived in. For a missing item, email us with "Missing Product" as the subject.

What if the item is faulty?

You are covered for 6 months under the Consumer Protection Act. We collect it at our expense, and you choose a refund, repair or replacement. Clearance and end-of-line items can generally only be repaired or refunded.

What can't be returned?

Custom-ordered and specially imported items, anything that has been modified, final-clearance items, software with an opened seal, and digital licence keys once issued.

How long does a refund take?

Up to 5 business days for the quality check, then payment within 10 business days. Refunds go back to the card or bank account the order was paid from. If you choose store credit instead, that choice is final.

Discount codes

Where do I enter a discount code?

In the Order Summary on the basket page, before you place your order.

Do I need an account to use one?

Yes. Discount codes are for account holders — sign in or create an account and your basket is kept exactly as it is.

The total didn't change when I applied my code.

That is expected. The basket shows a note telling you how much comes off, and the discount is applied when the order is placed. You will see it as a discount line on the order itself in Account → Orders.

Can I use more than one code on an order?

No — one code per order.

Does a code apply to my delivery fee?

No. Discount codes come off the value of the goods, not the delivery charge.

Why won't my code work?

Codes can have their own rules: a minimum spend, an expiry date, and a limit on how many times they can be used. Each code can also only be used once per account. The basket will tell you which of these applies.

Rewards

How do I earn points?

You earn 1% back on everything you buy, added to your account once an order is paid.

Where do I see my points?

Under Account → Rewards. Each entry shows what earned it and when.

Do I need to do anything to join?

No — points are added automatically to your account when an order is paid. You do need an account for them to be added to.

Bundles

What is a bundle?

A bundle is two or more items bought together at a bundle price. The saving is worked out from the items you choose — it is not a fixed package.

How do I build one?

Two ways:

  • On a product page — under "Complete Your Order" we suggest items that go with what you are looking at. Tick the ones you want and tap Add bundle to basket. You will see the items total, the bundle saving and the bundle total before you commit.
  • On the Bundles page — pick anything you like from the catalogue. Two or more items go into your basket as one bundle, at a bundle price.

Can I take something out of a bundle?

Yes, while you are building it — untick anything you do not need, and the saving adjusts to match. Once a bundle is in your basket it is handled as one unit.

How does a bundle appear in my basket?

As a single card listing what is in it, with an items total and the bundle saving shown underneath. The items are removed together rather than one at a time.

What about the bundle pages you feature?

Our curated packs — like the Drummer's Essentials Pack — are suggested combinations. Add the pieces individually, or send us an enquiry and we will put the whole pack together for you.

Stock and availability

What do the stock labels mean?

  • In stock — we have it, and you can buy it now.
  • In Stock at Supplier — our supplier has it but we do not hold it in the store, so we cannot confirm today's price or lead time online. Send us an enquiry and we will come back to you with both.
  • Out of stock — not available at the moment. Enquire for availability and an updated price.

Why can't I add an "In Stock at Supplier" item to my basket?

Because we cannot confirm its price or lead time until we have checked with the supplier. Use the enquiry form on the product page and we will get back to you.

Can you tell me when something is back in stock?

On an out-of-stock product you can register your interest and our team will follow up about availability. It is a person getting back to you, not an automatic alert — we do not send back-in-stock or price-drop notifications.

Do you show how many you have?

No — availability is shown as a status rather than a number.

Can I check whether it is on the shelf in the store?

Not on the website. Phone the store on 012 991 6077 and we will check for you.

Wishlist

How does the wishlist work?

Save anything you want to come back to, and find it under Account → Wishlist.

Do I need an account?

Yes. If you are not signed in, you will see "Sign in to save this".

Can I share my wishlist, or get told when a price drops?

Not at the moment — the wishlist is a private list for your own reference.

Finding things

How do I search?

Use the search box in the header. You can then sort results by Featured, Newest arrivals, Price low to high, Price high to low, or Name A-Z.

Can I browse by category and brand?

Yes — browse by department, then narrow by brand.
