Description
The Mapex Black Panther 'Pegasus' 14 x 5.5'' Maple/Walnut Snare Drum is a maple-walnut hybrid snare with full-bodied tones and ferocious attack. A brand new addition to Mapex's acclaimed Black Panther range, the Pegasus benefits from a combination of two separate tonewoods: maple and walnut. Maple wood provides the warm, all-purpose snare tones you know and love, while walnut - a much harder wood - is known for powerful, focused attack. The result is the Pegasus snare's thrilling blend of sonics. You can expect unrelenting attack, like the pounding of hooves against an open plain, as well as rich, resonant sounds that sing in harmony with the rest of your kit. Its elegant, maple burl finish imparts a regal aesthetic befitting of such an instrument.
Mapex's Black Panther Series
Drums born of only the finest craftsmanship and obsessive attention to detail make it into Mapex's elite Black Panther range. These are drums that sound as impressive as they look. With custom Mapex features such as the SONIClear bearing edges and Sonic Saver hoops, the Black Panther drums are a formidable force for both the studio and the stage.
SONIClear Bearing Edges
Mapex's unique bearing edge technology ensures better contact between drum head and shell. This increased head-to-shell contact improves shell vibration and allows for greater resonance, as well as easier tuning. The sonic nuances of your snare strikes and rolls will sound better than ever.
Sonic Saver hoops
An exclusive Black Panther component, Mapex's Sonic Saver counterhoops further focus the snare's overall sound with their unique profile - also reducing wear and tear on sticks while dramatically enhancing its response.
