How to choose

Choose a wireless system by how many people you need to mic at once and how far you will be from the camera.

Beginner

A creator filming solo content can start with a simple two-piece system like the Rode Wireless ME Dual. Clip the transmitter close to the mouth under clothing if needed, and do a short test recording before the real shoot to check levels.

Intermediate

A creator regularly filming interviews with two people benefits from the Rode Wireless GO III or the Hollyland Lark C1 Duo, both built for dual-person setups. Check battery levels before each shoot and keep transmitters within stated range of the receiver.

Expert

A professional working on multi-camera or multi-person shoots often relies on the Hollyland Lark Max Duo for its longer range and more robust build. At this level, run a full range and interference check at the actual location, and carry backup units in case a transmitter fails mid-shoot.

About Wireless Camera Mics

A wireless camera mic system sends audio from a small transmitter clipped to a subject back to a receiver on the camera, without a cable running between them. People buy these for interviews, vlogging and run-and-gun shoots where a subject needs to move freely.

This page includes Rode's Wireless GO III and Wireless ME systems, Hollyland's Lark C1 Duo and Lark Max, and Behringer's wireless lapel and camera mic options.
