How to choose
Pick a splash by size, since smaller splashes speak faster and larger ones hold a touch more sustain.
Beginner
A Sabian SBR or B8X splash around 10 inch is an easy first accent cymbal to add to a starter kit. Mount it close and slightly angled so it is easy to reach quickly between other hits.
Intermediate
Players adding colour to fills often try a Sabian HHX Complex Aero or T-Cymbals splash for a brighter accent. Try an 8 inch alongside a 10 or 12 inch to hear how size changes the pitch and decay.
Expert
Experienced players reaching for a Meinl Byzance Traditional or Polyphonic splash are usually after a very specific short accent for recording work. Keep splashes on light-duty arms since they are thinner and more fragile than crash cymbals.

About Splashes
A splash cymbal gives a short, bright accent that cuts through quickly and fades fast, and drummers usually add one or two to a kit that already has its main crashes.
This page has splashes in small sizes from 8 to 12 inch, spanning affordable Sabian SBR and B8X models to Meinl Byzance and Sabian HHX splashes.
