How to choose
Choose based on your saxophone type, alto or tenor, and how open a tip you are ready to play.
Beginner
A beginner alto player can start with the Tone Edge Hard Rubber Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece in size 4, a smaller tip opening that is easier to control while building embouchure strength. Practise long tones daily to develop a steady, even sound on the new mouthpiece.
Intermediate
A tenor player looking to develop more projection can try the Tone Edge Hard Rubber Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece in size 7, which offers a bit more air resistance to work with than a smaller tip. Spend time adjusting reed strength to match the mouthpiece before judging its tone.
Expert
An experienced alto player wanting a more open, expressive setup can move to the Tone Edge Hard Rubber Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece in size 7*, which rewards strong embouchure control with a fuller sound. Keep the mouthpiece clean and check the reed table regularly for wear, since a worn table affects reed seal and response.

About Otto Link in Musical Instruments
Otto Link is a well-known name in saxophone mouthpieces, and the Tone Edge Hard Rubber line is widely used across jazz and classical playing. The mouthpiece has a major effect on tone and response, often more so than the saxophone itself.
This page has four Otto Link mouthpieces, covering both alto and tenor saxophone in a few different tip opening sizes.
