How to choose
Decide on channel count and whether you need a powered mixer before comparing models.
Beginner
Someone running sound for a small event for the first time should start with the 6-channel mixer, since fewer channels are easier to manage while learning gain staging and EQ. Use the Bluetooth or USB input for background music between sets rather than routing it through a channel.
Intermediate
A band or small venue operator needing more inputs can step up to the M804 8-channel or M1204 12-channel mixer, using the DSP effects for reverb on vocals. Choose the powered version if you are driving passive speakers directly without a separate amplifier.
Expert
An experienced engineer running regular shows should get familiar with the DSP presets on the 12-channel powered model to speed up setup between different events. Keep firmware and connections checked regularly, and test the Bluetooth and USB inputs before each show to avoid surprises.
