How to choose
Choose based on your channel count and whether you want built-in DSP processing.
Beginner
New to recording with Pro Tools, the MTRX Studio gives you a large number of inputs and outputs to grow into as your setup expands. Set it up close to your computer to keep cable runs short, and label your inputs so sessions stay organized.
Intermediate
As your sessions get busier, understanding how the Carbon Hybrid's onboard processing can offload work from your computer is worth exploring before you buy. Compare the routing options of both interfaces against how many microphones and instruments you record at once.
Expert
For demanding studio work, the Carbon Hybrid combines interface and hybrid engine processing for low-latency tracking on complex sessions. Keep the unit's drivers and firmware current, and route your monitoring carefully so playback stays reliable during long sessions.
