Beginner
A young student starting violin should be sized correctly using a smaller HV100 or 3/4 outfit if needed, while an adult beginner on cello can look at the HC100 in a size matched by a teacher. Keep the instrument in its case between practices and check that strings stay in tune as the wood settles.
Intermediate
A growing student who has moved up to full size can choose the 4/4 HV100 or HV50 violin outfit, or the full size HC100 cello, and may want the Featherweight C-3907 case for lighter daily carrying. Have a teacher check the bridge position and bow hair tension periodically as playing frequency increases.
Expert
