Steeped in British military history, the Premier 16″ x 12″ Traditional Marching Tenor Drum sets the standard that other drum companies can only aspire to. Thanks to its 5.6mm 7-ply solid birch shell, the Traditional Marching tenor emits a strong midrange presence when struck, allowing it to cut through the densest of arrangements without being overbearing. Purpose built for marching bands, its lightweight design means the drum is just as comfortable to play on-the-go as it is statically.

Keeping Tradition

The typical formation of a traditional or military band is 6-2-1. This consists of six snare drums, two tenor drums following with one bass drum at the rear of the ensemble. A procession can be a lively event, that’s why all shells in the traditional range are crafted from birch. After a meticulous research and design process, birch was chosen by their team of specialists based on its bright top-end, full bodied low-end and the gentle scoop it offers in the low-mids.

Birch offered the perfect amount of volume and articulation necessary to cut through to ensure your ensemble are heard. Coming complete with an aesthetically pleasing ivory white lacquer finish, drum key and Diamond Chrome fittings, the placement of the tenor’s support hoops have been carefully chosen to guarantee optimal range, without compromising the quality of sound and projection.
