How to choose

Choose by section, whether you are equipping snare, tenor or bass drum players in a marching line.

Beginner

A student joining a marching band snare line will use a drum such as the HTS 800 14 x 12 inch Snare Drum, fitted with the correct harness for marching. Learn proper carrying posture early, since marching drums are heavier than a standard kit snare.

Intermediate

Section leaders equipping a line often standardise on one snare colour and pair it with the Traditional Tenor Drum for a matched tenor line. Check tension and strainer adjustment regularly, since marching drums see more movement and temperature change than a stationary kit.

Expert

Drum corps and instructors managing a full line often need Multi Tenor Sets and replacement parts like the HTS strainers and lugs to keep drums performance ready across a season. Inspect hardware before every performance and keep a small parts kit on hand for quick field repairs.
