The Rico Select Jazz Alto Saxophone Reeds – Strength 4 Hard (Box of 10) are premium reeds designed for players who demand maximum control, projection, and tonal richness. Part of the Select Jazz range by D’Addario, these reeds are precision-cut for consistency and tailored for jazz and contemporary performance.
Featuring the thickest spine and blank in the Select Jazz range, these reeds produce a full-bodied, focused tone with strong projection and a darker sound profile. Their design supports powerful articulation and a wide dynamic range, making them ideal for experienced saxophonists.
The 4 Hard (4H) strength offers high resistance, requiring a well-developed embouchure while providing excellent tonal stability and control. These reeds are especially suited to players using more open mouthpieces or those seeking a strong, centred sound.
