Behringer Model 15 Semi-modular Analog Synthesizer

Behringer Model 15 Semi-modular Analog Synthesizer

Synthesists here have been waiting for their time with this reimagined take on classic analog synthesis: Behringer Model 15 Semi-modular Analog Synthesizer. The semi-modular powerhouse deploys meticulously re-created circuitry to supply sonic sculptors with a pure-analog signal path that captures its precursor’s hallmark character, reborn in a no-patching-required architecture. Its syncable dual VCOs are complemented by a dedicated sub-oscillator and a 4-waveform LFO that includes detailed pulse-width, filter, and pitch modulation tools. An ADSR envelope and vintage-style 24dB/octave ladder filter can be used in conjunction with the painstakingly emulated spring reverb to carve your sound with subtle shaping, evocative swells, and everything in between. Through an immensely flexible arpeggiator, a 256-step sequencer, and a slew of connectivity and patching options, this synth has the modern heart to take its iconic sonics to untold future dimensions.

Dynamic performance potential

While modulation opportunities abound across patching, MIDI, envelope, and LFO tools, the Model 15’s robust sequencer and arpeggiator afford synthesists exciting, dynamic opportunities for rhythmic composition. Its flexible arpeggiator includes a hold function alongside several playback and recording modes, with its sequencer capable of three distinct 256-step memory slots. Key transposition tools and versatile key-tracking augment the Model 15’s latent sonic potential with even more ways to imbue complex harmonics and multi-oscillator madness.

Comprehensive connectivity

For the modulation-minded, the Model 15 includes a total of 48 patch points, accommodating boundless interoperative possibilities with nearly any setup. Still, this timeless synth features comprehensive MIDI integration, ensuring virtually any gear can groove with the indelible character of the Model 15. Connectivity doesn’t stop there, however, as this semi-modular synth is equipped with Behringer’s 16-voice Poly Chain technology, allowing you to connect compatible modules for fully synchronized performances with up to 16 voices of polyphony.
