The Apogee Boom is a 2x2 USB-C desktop audio interface that brings Apogee's professional-grade conversion and preamp engineering into a compact, bus-powered unit designed for musicians, podcasters, content creators, and live streamers. Input 1 is a balanced XLR/TRS combo jack accepting microphone, line, or instrument signals, with 62dB of gain — enough headroom for demanding dynamic microphones including the Shure SM7B. Input 2 is a balanced 1/4" instrument/line jack. Both inputs accept a maximum level of +18 dBu. AD conversion runs at up to 24-bit/192kHz with 122dB dynamic range (A-weighted) and THD+N of -100dB, while DA conversion delivers 117dB dynamic range and -107dB THD+N — specifications that sit well above the class. The zero-ohm headphone output (0.5 Ohm impedance) drives high-impedance hi-fi headphones without the rolloff or imbalance of conventional headphone stages. Two balanced 1/4" TRS monitor outputs feed studio monitors directly from the rear panel.

This means you can track through professional-quality processing and hear a polished, mix-ready sound in your headphones as you record, without any load on your computer's CPU. Apogee Control 2 software manages all DSP settings, direct monitoring, the onboard mixer, and monitor controller functions from a single interface on macOS, iOS, or Windows. Loopback mode routes computer audio back into the recording path alongside live inputs, making the Boom a complete podcast and livestream production hub for routing game audio, music playback, and conversation simultaneously.

Built in rugged steel with a Kensington lock slot, rubber base pads, and a compact footprint (9.8 × 7.5 × 3"), the Boom runs entirely on USB bus power with no external power supply required. It is compatible with Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone, and ships with Ableton Live Lite for immediate DAW recording.
