Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS20 – Sunset Sunburst

The Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS20 is the from the latest generation of Revstar guitars. It features the unique Revstar body shape, a carbon reinforced neck, and a pair of Alnico Humbuckers with Yamaha’s unique passive Focus Switch. It comes available in a great selection of Café racer inspired finishes!

Yamaha have utilised a chambered mahogany body for the RSS20 complete with a maple top. This construction that helps two things, to help reduce weight for a more comfortable playing experience, and to sculpt the tone of the guitar for a clearer, full sound.

The body is paired with a 3-peice mahogany neck which hosts carbon reinforcement for added stability. The neck has which has a smooth satin polyurethane finish and is topped with a rosewood fingerboard with a modern 12″ radius and set with 22 stainless steel jumbo frets.

Powering the Revstar Standard RSS20 is a pair of Yamaha designed VH5 alnico V humbuckers. The pickups are wired through master volume and tone controls and a 5-way switch – the subtle phase shift on positions 2 and 4 offers a fresh take on classic in-between sounds. Yamaha’s Focus Switch, accessible via a Push/Pull Tone control, activates a passive boost with an effect similar to overwound pickupsdarker highs, increased mids and lows, and an aggressive character.

Other appointments include a rock solid Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, a 3-ply pickguard and die-cast tuners.
