Roland RP701 Digital Upright Piano - Contemporary Black

If you’re searching for a digital piano for your home or classroom, the Roland RP-701 offers a variety of premium features that make it too good to pass up. It all starts with stunningly realistic grand piano sound, courtesy of Roland’s SuperNATURAL Piano technology. Thanks to the company’s PHA-4 Standard keyboard, the RP-701 feels like the real deal, too. The true-to-life progressive damper action pedal is just icing on the cake. The RP-701’s stereo speaker system ensures excellent, performance-ready sound, while 3D Ambience gives you realistic, natural sound while practicing with headphones. To top it off, you can stream music from your tablet or smartphone via Bluetooth, in addition to taking advantage of apps that make learning easy. An eye-catching cabinet puts the perfect finishing touch on the RP-701.

SuperNATURAL acoustic piano experience

Coupled with the expressive touch of the RP-701’s PHA-4 Standard keyboard, Roland’s renowned SuperNATURAL piano modeling engine delivers supremely authentic acoustic grand piano sound. We’ve found that the SuperNATURAL sound engine gives you an intimate and customizable connection with your keyboard. Each note can be shaped to respond to your touch and dynamics with the tone and harmonic accuracy you desire. Roland’s PHA-4 Standard keyboard provides a playing experience that is perfect for beginners while satisfying even the most seasoned pianists.

PHA-4 Standard keyboard gives you satisfying, natural acoustic piano feel

No matter your skillset on the piano, Roland’s PHA-4 Standard keyboard brings out the best in your playing. Authentic Hammer Action and Escapement helps communicate every nuance of expression and dynamics. With its high-resolution sensing and fast key repetition, this keyboard is built to satisfy even the most advanced pianists, so you won’t need to upgrade your RP-701 as your technique improves. The keys even simulate the look and feel of real ebony and ivory, and their textured, moisture-absorbing properties deepen the feeling that you're playing a fine acoustic grand piano. And to enhance the superb expressiveness of the keyboard, the RP-701 is equipped with a progressive damper action pedal that mimics the feel and response of those found on the finest acoustic pianos.

Enhanced headphone experience with 3D Ambience

When you’re practicing with headphones, you want a satisfying sonic experience, and that’s precisely what you get with the RP-701. Roland’s 3D Ambience technology is engineered to give you the sensation that you’re playing in a real acoustical space, yielding a rich, natural piano sound.

Loaded with sounds, plus practice and performance features

The RP-701 is loaded with 324 great sounds that run the full gamut of musical instruments. There are onboard effects, too. Practice and performance features include Twin Piano, which effectively lets you split the keyboard into two parts, each with identical note range and its own sustain pedal (in this mode, the left and right pedals each have the damper function). Twin Piano is ideal for lessons and duets, but that’s not the RP-701’s only skill-building feature. The built-in metronome and SMF (standard MIDI file) recorder let you practice with a perfect time reference and also record and listen back to your performances — critical for polishing your chops.

Connect to your smart device via Bluetooth

The RP-701 supports Bluetooth streaming of audio from your smart device, so you can play along with songs from your music library. You can take advantage of any iOS/Android MIDI music apps, and you can also personalize and fine-tune the RP-701’s sounds with the Piano Designer app via your device’s touch display.
