For instance, the Piano Reality Concert keyboard of the GP-9M feels precisely like that of an authentic, concert-class acoustic grand — making for an immersive experience through a piano that detects even the subtlest nuances. The GP-9M also offers unlimited polyphony, eight precisely-tuned speakers, 324 tones, and a classical elegance that embellishes any room. This GP-9M model has features that turn it into a comprehensive entertainment showcase for performance venues, restaurants, hotels, and homes. For masters of the keyboard or fresh learners, Sweetwater attests that the Roland GP-9M thrills with its gorgeous sound and masterful details.

A digital grand like no other

The Roland GP-9M Digital Grand Piano Polished Ebony certainly makes a statement. With its alluring gloss finish, sumptuous curves, and fine details, the Roland GP-9M conveys sophistication and looks resplendent in any room. The capabilities held within the piano echo the elegance found without. Like an acoustic grand piano, this concert-class digital grand has a lid that pianists can open to revel in uncompromised sonic projection. Also, you’ll never have to worry about LCD control panel distractions. Simply turn off the backlighting, and you’ll have a space that’s just the piano and you. But the true star of the Roland GP-9M show is the Roland Piano Reality design approach. This technology comprises the keyboard, sound engine, pedals, audio components, and speakers, building a connected network between each component that adds up to flawless expression and unprecedented realism.

The complete digital entertainment piano

Those looking for the ultimate piano entertainment showcase for performance venues, restaurants, hotels, and homes will find it in the GP-9M Digital Grand Piano. Featuring the same sound engine, keys, and features of the GP-9 model, the GP-9M adds microphone connectivity and professional audio outputs. Now you can sing aloud with the piano and connect to professional sound systems for performances. For a more laid-back approach, the GP-9M also features self-playing keys that perform songs from the onboard piano song library or MIDI files stored on USB flash media. It’s also easy to download more songs from the Roland Cloud via the Roland Piano App. With or without a pianist at the helm, the GP-9M will steal the show every time!

88 reasons to love the GP-9M’s keyboard

The Roland GP-9M comes equipped with 88 Piano Reality Hybrid Concert keys. These keys offer playability that’s hard to distinguish from a true, concert-class acoustic grand. Roland achieved this through progressive hammer action with escapement to nail a response that’s filled with the intricacies of performance. In fact, an advanced acceleration sensing technology will keep all your fast-paced staccatos or sweeping pianissimo notes supremely intact. Fine details, like long key pivot length and unique haptic vibration, round out the acoustic-like feel and response of the keys. The GP-9M’s keyboard comprises hybrid wood and Ivory Feel materials, making for a classic acoustic grand feel and durability that will last for years to come. To accompany the keys, you have the required sustain, soft, and sostenuto pedals, complete with damper modeling. These components add up to playability that can stand up to intense classical solos and traditional pedal techniques.

Highly detailed sound system and 324 tones

When playing the GP-9M Digital Grand Piano, you’ll be treated to room-filling sound whether you’re playing a Chopin sonata or your favorite song via Bluetooth. With its Piano Reality Concert projection sound system, the GP-9M sings out with detailed sound, living response, and complex tonal colors. The GP-9M achieves this concert-class grand piano sound with eight speakers: one cabinet, three spatial, two center nearfields, and two nearfields. The speakers, coupled with first-rate audio circuitry, advanced sonic processing, and multichannel amplification, expel glorious sound that’ll inspire at the touch of a key. In fact, the notes you play mirror the physical string positions of an actual acoustic grand’s soundboard — you’ll feel the piano come alive under your fingers. And, with 324 tones onboard, including four grands, five uprights, 12 electric, 12 organs, and much more, you’ll hear every instrument you play in rich detail. What’s more, you can engage the Piano Reality Ambience to hear your music sound like its in a studio, a lounge, a concert hall, or even a cathedral.

Enjoy wireless freedom

With Bluetooth onboard, the Roland GP-9M makes enhancing your piano experience with your smartphone or tablet easy. Play along with your favorite tunes streamed from your music library, and thrill to the rich sound as the piano’s speaker system fills the room with full, rich sound. Or you can connect with your music production apps via Bluetooth audio/MIDI to wirelessly compose on the GP-9M’s highly responsive keyboard. USB ports are also included for connecting with your computer and flash storage devices, providing even more ways to supercharge your creativity and share your music.

Seamless integration with the Roland Piano App

The GP-9M features seamless integration with the Roland Piano App, which expands your music-making experience by providing remote operation from mobile devices. With the app, you can choose sounds, set the metronome, and use the recording feature to assess your playing and identify areas that need improvement. You can also browse the piano’s onboard song library and select scores to learn at your own pace. Challenge yourself with lesson features such as an activity log with fun flash card games, rhythm exercises, achievable goals, and the One Week Master program, which guides you through learning piano pieces.

The digital advantage

Roland has long been an industry leader in digital pianos, and they have built the GP-9M with advanced technologies that bring you a universe of advantages over traditional acoustic pianos. Perhaps most obviously, volume control is infinitely controllable, and the weight is less than half that of an acoustic grand. Connect headphones to play at all hours without disturbing others. Use Twin Piano mode to play duets with a family member, friend, or teacher. Roland packed the GP-9M Digital Grand with world-class grand piano sounds, but players can also contour sounds more precisely through the onboard Piano Designer tools. This makes it easy to adjust string tuning and temperament, shape cabinet resonances, fine-tune keyboard sensitivity and duplex scaling, and more. And of course, without the need for tuning and regular maintenance, the GP-9M will always sound perfect!
