Ibanez Iceman ICB620 4 String Electric Bass Guitar - Black Flat

Ibanez Iceman ICB620 4 String Electric Bass Guitar - Black Flat

The namesake of the legendary Ibanez Iceman may be cold, but trust us when we say that the entire design of this ICB620 bass guitar is scorching hot! Built on a foundation of premium tonewoods, including lightweight okoume, substantial maple, and exceptionally supple panga panga, this instrument is crafted for nimble navigability. Sonically, a pair of onboard Bartolini humbucking pickups supply a versatile range of modern tones, complete with onboard Volume, Balance, Bass, and Treble control knobs for advanced sonic sculpting. Finished with an elite assemblage of Ibanez hardware, including an MT5S bridge and reliable machine heads, the Iceman will undoubtedly become your go-to onstage sidekick and preferred in-studio axe.

Defining Ibanez playability

First unveiled in the 1970s, Ibanez's classic Iceman body style is a favorite among bassists. The Iceman ICB620 honors the legendary look, sporting a lightweight okoume body joined by a satin-finished maple neck for deft and swift movements. The neck is topped off with a bound 12-inch-radius panga panga fingerboard, complete with acrylic block inlays, for nimble finger work across all 22 frets.

Bartolini classic soapbars deliver the tone

Bartolini BH2 passive pickups deliver classic soapbar pickup tone on demand. Their dual-coil humbucking design bucks the annoying hum, but delivers the beefy tone. They’re amazingly responsive, too. Dig in, and they growl with the big cats. Pull back, and they’re sweet and clear. Go ahead: slap and pop — they thrive on aggressive playing! Bartolini’s Classic Bass series pickups are popular with progressive, jazz, gospel, and metal musicians for whom articulation is critical. Ask any tone-savvy bass player, and they’ll confirm that, onstage or in the studio, your bass will sound incredible with Bartolini BH2 soapbar pickups.

Ibanez: guitar and bass powerhouse

Ibanez’s obsessive attention to detail has made the company a global guitar and bass powerhouse, but it didn’t happen overnight. Ibanez began its life in 1908 as the Hoshino Gakki company in Nagoya, Japan. However, the company didn’t get into the guitar business until 1929, when it started importing Salvador Ibanez guitars from Spain. In 1935, Hoshino Gakki began building Spanish acoustic guitars under the “Ibanez Salvador” name, which was later shortened to Ibanez. Although Ibanez started manufacturing electric guitars in 1957, the company was relatively unknown in the West until the 1960s, when it started producing guitars based on American designs. By the late 1970s, Ibanez began manufacturing the innovative, original guitar and bass designs that the company is now known for. The company is also famous for its effect pedals, most notably the Tube Screamer.
