Trinity Rock & Pop Bass Initial

Trinity Rock & Pop Bass Initial

The Trinity Rock & Pop Bass Initial book is the starting point for bass guitar students entering the Trinity Rock & Pop graded exam system. Designed for complete beginners, it introduces fundamental bass guitar techniques, simple rhythms, and essential music reading skills through a curated selection of rock and pop styles. The Initial grade sits at the very beginning of the Trinity exam pathway, making it the ideal first formal step for anyone picking up the bass for the first time.

This book is perfect for self-taught players looking for structure, as well as students working with a teacher who want a clear, progressive syllabus to follow. The pieces are drawn from well-known rock and pop repertoire, so learners stay engaged with music they recognise while building solid technical foundations. Each piece is accompanied by performance notes and backing tracks, helping students develop both solo playing and ensemble awareness.

Trinity College London is one of the world's most respected exam boards, and their Rock & Pop syllabus is specifically tailored to contemporary musicians. The Initial grade book provides everything needed to prepare for the exam, including sight-reading exercises, ear tests, and technical work — all presented in an accessible, student-friendly format that makes early learning enjoyable and rewarding.
