Kurzweil K2061 61-key V.A.S.T. Synthesizer Workstation

Kurzweil K2061 61-key V.A.S.T. Synthesizer Workstation

Making its debut in 1991, the Kurzweil K2000 ushered in a new era of sophisticated keyboard workstations for professional musicians. Today, the Kurzweil K2061 synthesizer workstation builds on that formidable legacy, bringing you Kurzweil’s most advanced K20 series keyboard to date. Featuring a silky smooth, 61-note synth-action keyboard with aftertouch and a host of hands-on controllers, including a ribbon controller, the K2061 invites you to explore its incredibly deep feature set. Gigging keyboardists will appreciate the massive selection of over 2,000 factory programs ready for instant deployment, plus an additional 2GB of user storage space for loading custom sounds. Kurzweil’s proprietary FlashPlay technology loads programs instantaneously — a huge advantage when switching sounds during live performances.

Powered by Kurzweil’s Variable Architecture Synthesis Technology

The K20 series keyboard workstations represent the definitive evolution of Kurzweil’s proprietary Variable Architecture Synthesis Technology. Honed over three decades through generations of esteemed K2 synthesizers, V.A.S.T. provides 32 customizable layers per program, massive polyphony, and an array of intuitive, hands-on controllers that empower you to create expansive and nuanced sounds that transcend the boundaries of V.A.S.T. classics and forge entirely new soundscapes. With Kurzweil’s legendary V.A.S.T. modular synthesis architecture at its core, seamlessly integrated with a powerful 6-operator FM engine, KVA oscillators, creative arpeggiators and sequencers, and an extensive suite of customizable effects, the K2061 provides a comprehensive feature set for professional keyboardists who need a no-compromise instrument with flawless playability and virtually limitless creative potential.

A total beast — onstage and in the studio

Kurzweil packed the K2061 with its industry-leading technologies to create a masterful keyboard workstation that can do no wrong. While the K2061 is an exemplary plug-and-play performance keyboard, its real magic lies in its considerable sound design potential, which is powered by Kurzweil’s renowned V.A.S.T. editing, a 6-operator FM synth engine, a powerful 16-track sequencer, a complement of arpeggiators, studio-grade onboard effects, and more. On top of that, the K2061 comes equipped with an integrated USB audio interface for recording into your favorite DAW right from the workstation. Designed for composers, arrangers, sound designers, and touring musicians alike, the K2061 astounds with its massive capabilities and peerless Kurzweil pedigree!

Extensive hands-on, real-time control

Equipped with dozens of programmable physical controllers, the K2061 provides the immediacy of hands-on, real-time control. The intuitive, streamlined user interface consists of a bright, high-resolution color LCD with six soft keys underneath, dedicated front-panel transposition and tempo controls, pitch bend and modulation wheels, a 3-section ribbon controller, nine programmable knobs and sliders, 10 buttons, fast categorized instrument selection, and dedicated arpeggiator and sequencer transport controls. In addition to MIDI I/O and USB/MIDI, the K2061 provides flexible connectivity that includes a stereo audio input, two CC pedal inputs, and two switch pedal jacks, each supporting single or dual switch pedals or a single half-damper pedal plus 5-pin DIN MIDI I/O and a USB/MIDI-to-device port.

Powerful features for masterful performance

With a whopping 2GB of factory sample content, an additional 2GB of user storage, and up to 16 zones in Multi Mode, the K2061 shines as both a performance controller and synth workstation. The K2061 comes loaded with over 2,000 factory programs, a versatile effects engine with full editing capabilities, a 16-track Sequencer with 960 PPQ resolution, 16 arpeggiators, 16 riff players, flexible MIDI control with 16 MIDI CC step sequencers, and extensive native V.A.S.T. editing capabilities. But the star of the show may well be the powerful 6-operator FM synthesis engine that natively imports original FM SysEx files from the ’80s and ’90s!

Load sounds instantly with FlashPlay technology

One of the many features keyboardists love about the K2061 is its ability to load any sound instantly. Kurzweil calls it FlashPlay technology, a denomination that essentially means you’ll never slow down or botch a performance due to loading times. You’ve got 2GB of killer factory sounds in the Kurzweil K2061 — all with zero load time. That equates to a staggering amount of horsepower you’ll appreciate whether you’re wowing an audience onstage or impressing collaborators in the studio. Kurzweil knows what you need to perform with confidence, and you get it all in the K2061!
