Quality construction in a value-priced ukulele

The KA-15S ukulele is a real value, especially in light of how well it’s built. Its all-mahogany body produces a resonance that belies this uke’s modest size. Geared die-cast tuners ensure reliable intonation. You’ll experience superior sustain and vibrational transfer, thanks to a high-quality GraphTech NuBone nut and saddle. Add to that an eye-catching satin finish, and you’ve got yourself a fine acoustic instrument that you’ll enjoy for years to come. Wwe find that the Kala KA-15S delivers performance that far exceeds expectations.

A uke for every occasion

Ukuleles come in all shapes and sizes. The Kala KA-15S is a soprano. This size, often called “standard” in Hawaii, was the original size and is the second smallest. It delivers a classic island sound with percussive treble and glittering overtones. Slightly larger and louder than a soprano is the concert size, which came about in the 1920s. Some players find the concert uke’s longer-scale neck more comfortable to play. The tenor was created soon after the concert, exhibiting more projection and deeper bass tones and fits in well with the sound of most acoustic guitars. The baritone was developed in the 1940s and resembles a smaller tenor guitar. Contrabass and bass ukuleles are recent innovations that yield a distinctive low-end punch. No matter what type of vibe you’re going for, Kala has a ukulele that’s tailor-made for you.
