Fender Player II Modified Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar - Dusk

Armed with high-power HSS sonics, the Fender Player II Modified Stratocaster HSS injects its standard Player II predecessor with unabashedly modern playability and performance. From the moment you grip this guitar’s maple neck in your palm, you’ll be thrilled by the fluid playability of its slim modern C profile, sleek satin finish, and comfortably rounded-over edges. Moreover, the 9.5-inch radius and 22 medium-jumbo frets facilitate all manner of fingerboard finesse. As for the tone, neck- and middle-position Player II Noiseless Strat pickups sing with hum-free chime and shimmer, while the bridge-position Player II Modified Humbucker dishes out a high-power dual-coil wallop with ample output and articulation. And if you’re in the mood for standard SSS Strat sonics, you can even flip the push-pull Tone knob to access authentic single-coil bite. An innovative hardware arrangement cements this guitar’s hot-rodded status, comprising a 2-point Synchronized tremolo with a chamfered block, steel block saddles, short-post locking tuning machines, and a modern string tree — a symbiotic suite of features that ensures lock-tight tuning stability and expanded pitch-bending potential. Expertly adapted for modern musicians of all styles and genres, the Player II Modified Stratocaster HSS sharpens up an all-time California classic while retaining the essence that’s made the Strat an icon since 1954.

High-speed modern C maple neck

The Fender Player II Modified series is all about performance, and the Player II Modified Stratocaster HSS’s neck embodies that philosophy with a plethora of player-focused features. A maple foundation in Fender’s fan-favorite modern C profile starts this 6-string off with a speedy feel, further bolstered by the neck’s slick satin finish. Topside, the 9.5-inch-radius fingerboard and medium-jumbo frets provide an ideal platform for wide, multi-step bends and vibrant vibrato. And arguably most impressively, the Fender Player II Modified Stratocaster HSS’s neck brandishes rolled edges that glide against your palm with an almost frictionless feel.

Noise-free single-coil shimmer paired with humbucking heat

Equipped with both hard-hitting humbucking firepower and uncompromisingly authentic single-coil sounds, Fender’s Player II Modified Stratocaster HSS pickups take on everything from screaming, gain-laden riffage to classic Strat spank with the flip of a switch. First up, the neck- and middle-position Player II Modified Noiseless Stratocaster pickups provide you with a clear, complex, and dynamic single-coil Stratocaster voice that performs without the faintest bit of 60-cycle hum. These tones balance beautifully against the warm, powerful output of the Alnico II Player II Modified Humbucker. Plus, you can even flip up the push-pull Tone pot to transform the humbucker into a single-coil for classic SSS Strat tones. Finally, it’s all topped off with a treble bleed circuit that retains clarity when you roll down the Volume knob.

Top-of-the-line hardware appointments

The Fender Player II Modified Stratocaster HSS wields upgraded hardware from stem to stern, all of which is engineered to ensure the highest level of performance possible. It all starts with a 2-point Synchronized tremolo that boasts a chamfered tremolo block. This much-welcomed modification provides this trem system with an expanded range of travel, which guitarists find allows for far more extreme and expressive whammy-bar finesse than typical vintage-style Strat trem units. What’s more, the Player II Modified Stratocaster HSS’s cutting-edge tremolo is further bolstered by an ultra-smooth modern string tree and short-post locking tuners. These three features work in perfect concert, ensuring that even your wildest pitch-shifting flourishes retain rock-solid tuning stability.
