The DDJ-FLX4 2-deck controller from Pioneer DJ is a highly compatible performer that proves its worth with beginners and professionals alike. It boasts the same authentic Pioneer DJ design as other professional models, and adds an exclusive Smart Mixing feature for easy and immediate use. With its rekordbox, Serato DJ, and algoriddim djay software-compatibility, syncing your music library from your phone or favorite streaming service is a cinch. Best of all, the DDJ-FLX4 comes complete with an audio output for microphone sound, entirely eradicating the need for a separate mixer. If you’re on the lookout for a standalone DJ controller with potential on any stage, then the DDJ-FLX4 is a serious contender.

Professional Pioneer DJ comfort

Built with the same tried-and true layout as other popular Pioneer DJ decks, the DDJ-FLX4 is made for easy maneuverability. The unit’s two decks rest above 16 performance pads, making for easy loop and cue control. In the center, a mixture of FX, EQ, and fader controls allows for simple manipulation during any mix. When paired with the DDJ-FLX4’s Smart Mixing technology, you’ll have access to more controls than ever before.

Get straight to the action with Smart Mixing technology

Whether you’re a seasoned DJ pro or just starting your mixing journey, you’ll appreciate the DDJ-FLX4’s Smart Mixing technology. When using the Smart Fader feature, the DDJ-FLX4 will automatically control your performance’s volume, bass, and BMP to ensure all your transitions and effects are operating — and sound — smooth. The DDJ-FLX4 also features a Smart CFX function, allowing you to combine a group of effects that can be controlled by a single parameter knob, easing the burden of multi-FX mixing. With Smart Mixing, you’ll benefit from more time to focus on the aspects of your session that matter most.

Seamless music library integration

With the help of rekordbox’s multiple service compatibility, the DDJ-FLX4 can command several popular streaming services to use as your mix library, including Apple Music, Tidal, Beatsource, and Beatport (Serato and algoriddim only) — a feature many DJs appreciate. Similarly, the DDJ-FLX4’s ability to work in tandem with PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices makes the integration of your music library easy from your computer or mobile phone/tablet. Taking all the best components from Pioneer’s professional S-DJX series and Pro Audio speakers, the Pioneer DJ DM-40D 4-inch Active Monitors (Pair) exude punchy bass and a balanced sound. Under the hood, the DM-40D boasts Class D amplification, a four-inch woofer with rich, tight bass, and a 0.75-inch tweeter that delivers a wide sweet spot with 3D stereo sound. Easily switch from a DJ mode to Production mode to access DSP settings tailored to each approach. We know DJ’s demand the best from their monitors, and the Pioneer DJ DM-40D monitor’s give you high-quality sound without draining your life savings.

What’s under the hood

A quick glance at the DM-40D monitors and you’ll probably notice the grooved ducts on the bottom of the front face. These grooves help to reduce air friction from the front loaded bass reflex system and provide tight, punchy bass even when positioned against a wall. Not to mention, DECO convex diffusers channel the tweeters’ high frequencies in a wide range, ensuring clear 3D stereo sound for a wide sweet spot area. The DM-40D monitors achieve their well-balanced response thanks to the perfect alignment of tweeter and woofer. Lastly, the DM-40D monitors offer connections like RCA and mini jack and provide a headphone connection so you can listen to your music any way you choose.

Onboard DSP and two operating modes

The DM-40D pair comes loaded with onboard 96kHz DSP to take their performance to the next level. There are two operating modes: Production and DJ. Production mode’s flat frequency response is perfect for crafting your next mashup or listening back to previous projects; in DJ mode, the DSP accurately re-creates the sound of PA speakers so you can hear your mix just as the crowd does. Pioneer DJ DM-40D active monitors provide the best possible sound for each listening application with their high-definition signal processing.
