Choose by how much valve work and tone control you need day to day.
Beginner
A first trumpet should be easy to blow and forgiving of an unsteady embouchure, which fits the YTR-2330 or the YTL-110 Trova. Keep the valves oiled, empty the water keys after playing, and wipe down the lacquer or plating to stop fingerprints marking it.
Intermediate
Once tone and range are developing, the YTR-3335 in lacquer or silver plate and the YTR-4335 give a fuller sound and steadier response for band and ensemble work. Rotate slide grease and valve oil into your routine and have the trumpet checked yearly to keep the action even.
Expert
For lead and section work where projection and detail matter, the YTR-8335 Xeno in gold lacquer gives a professional player more control at both ends of the dynamic range.
