How to choose
Choose a channel count that matches how many decks and inputs you actually run at once.
Beginner
A new DJ does well with the Pro Mixer NOX101 or DJX750, since two or four channels are enough to learn crossfading and EQ without a confusing panel. Keep the mixer on a stable table, plug decks in before powering up, and wipe the faders occasionally to stop crackle.
Intermediate
Once you are playing regular gigs, the DJX900USB or VMX1000USB give more channels and USB recording so you can capture sets and add extra inputs like a laptop or sampler. Set gain levels carefully on each channel before a set so nothing peaks in the mix.
