Vater Derek Roddy Drumstick

The Vater Derek Roddy Signature Drumstick is called the “Serpent’s Rise” and is emblazened with an image of a serpent.

Derek’s model is in between a 5A and 5B in the grip. The stick features a really quick taper to a small acorn tip for warm but defined cymbal tones. A great stick for a variety of musical applications.

Who is Derek Roddy?

In a world full of new bands and drummers popping up every day there are only a handful that stand at the top, apart from the flock.

These top musicians vary from genre to genre, at least at first glance. In reality the sign of a great musician and not just a ‘player’ is the ability to progress, adapt, innovate and explore. Some musicians are well known for a certain genre, but they also delve into other styles. This is the case with Derek. Having had an interest in music from early on, Derek came to be a fan of music before heading into the world of music later on.

While capable of playing many instruments and styles, Derek is most widely known as a phenomenal drummer in the Death Metal community.  He has performed with bands like: Hate Eternal, Malevolent Creation, Nile, Divine Empire, Aurora Borealis and Council Of The Fallen. This is, however not the extent of his talent. Derek is an avid drummer of many styles and has performed as a strictly Jazz, Blues, Rock and nearly anything else musician.
