Harrison Audio Comp 500 Series Compressor

Product Description

Harrison Audio Comp 500 Series Compressor

Tiny Compressor with Big Harrison Sound

Despite its diminutive form, Marshall Music studio engineers will be the first to tell you this Harrison Audio 500 Series Comp packs a punch! With its classic circuit design and top-quality components, the Comp more than “comp-ensates” for wild variances in a signal, easily reining loud sounds in and bringing quiet sounds up for a much more consistent sound. Use the Comp to level out drums, vocals, basses, and much more. Harrison Audio’s Comp features all standard compressor controls, including Makeup Gain, Ratio, Release, Threshold, and a Gain Reduction meter with 2dB of gain reduction per LED light.

The gang’s all here

It might be a lunchbox unit, but the Harrison Audio Comp has all the controls you need for smooth vocals, leveled guitars, and slamming drums. From top to bottom: its Makeup knob is used for extra gain post-compressor. When you disable the compressor, this makeup gain also gets disabled, which is awesome because it allows you to quickly A/B the pre-/post-compressor signals at comparable volume levels. Next, the Release knob adjusts the speed at which the compressor will return to unity gain. Then, the Ratio knob increases the effect of the compression. Additionally, the Threshold knob sets the level that a signal must cross for the Comp to kick into action. Finally, the “IN” button enables or disables the unit.
